The
newer buildings on Eckerd's campus are elevated as
part of one of Florida's building codes. In the event
of a hurricane, the elevation prevents the buildings
from being flooded.
Built
in 1989, the Nu Dormitory Complex is one of the newest dorm
complexes on campus.
The
buildings in Nu are elevated and each has a balcony which overlooks
an open quad.
Each
of the suites in Nu Dorms is an apartment style living arrangement
for up to 8 people with a kitchenette, private bathrooms, washer/dryer,
and a study room.
Many
students enjoy playing volleyball in the sand courts located
behind Nu.
