The Galbraith Marine Science Laboratory was constructed in April of 1993 and provides Marine Science majors with hands-on research opportunities often conducted side-by-side with faculty.

One of Galbraith's features is the inclusion of two large holding tanks underneath the building which can have bay water constantly pumped into them so they contain marine life for studying. The picture above shows one of the two tanks underneath the building.

Galbraith Marine Science Laboratory is also situated in an ideal location on the Eckerd College campus overlooking beautiful Boca Ciega Bay. A deck is located on the back of the building providing an excellent view of the water.

Inside Galbraith are five state-of-the-art labs, several classrooms, a student research lab, an aquarium room, faculty offices, and a teaching auditorium. The student labs include a computer lab, an aquarium room and individual research space. Plaques on the outside of each room indicate the main course of study within.
